Socks in support of endangered Koalas
Sockgaim are selling socks to support the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital.
Koalas in this country are now in serious decline being put on the endangered species list in February 2022.
We’ve joined forces with the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital to create our Koala Socks. All money raised by the sale of these attractive, fun socks will go directly to helping the Koala Hospital care for sick and injured koalas.
The Koala Hospital cares for up to 250 koalas every year. With their main focuses being on the rescue and rehabilitation of koala’s impacted by habitat loss, disease, motor vehicles incidents, dog attacks, storms and bushfires.
The Koala Hospital’s rescue teams are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. With a dedicated team of professionals and volunteers who manage ICU and caring yards where
treatment can continue until a koala is ready for release.
The Koala Hospital also has the world’s first Wild Koala Breeding Program. Until now, Koalas have never before been bred for return to the wild. Developed in partnership with several leading research institutions including Taronga Zoo, Australian Museum Research Institute and the University of Sydney.
Part of our ‘Socks for a Good Cause‘ range.
